ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of modified Angelica Fritilaria Sophorae Pill assisting transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) to treat primary liver cancer. Methods Totally 84 patients with primary liver cancer were randomized into combination treatment group (42 cases) and conventional control group (42 cases). The conventional control group received TACE treatment, the combination treatment group received modified Angelica Fritilaria Sophorae Decoction and TACE. The tumor volume, TCM syndrome score, life quality, immune function and toxicity reaction of both groups were observed. Results Clinical observation was completed with 37 patients in each group. After three courses of treatment, the objective tumor response rate was 91.9% in combination treatment group and 86.4% in conventional control group (P<0.05). The clinical symptoms (fever, abdominal pain, vomiting, fatigue) in both groups were improved (P<0.05), with significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). After treatment, KPS scores increased (P<0.05) in combination treatment group, and the scores of combination treatment group were significantly higher than those of the conventional control group (P<0.05). After treatment, Th1 function level increased (P<0.05) in combination treatment group, and that was better than the conventional control group (P<0.05). The incidence of liver toxicity and gastrointestinal reaction in the combination treatment group was significantly lower than that in the conventional control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Modified Angelica Fritilaria Sophorae Pill can enhance the efficacy of TACE treatment to treat primary liver cancer, reduce adverse reactions, and improve life quality of patients with primary liver cancer.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the changes of serum CORT,SOD and LPO in large-acreage cerebral insarction(LCI) and hyperthermia patients, and observe the effect of head hypothermia on them. Methods All cases of LCI were divided into head hypothermia treatment group(group A,n=49),warm water bath and glacial saline enema treatment group(group B,n=43),and health group(control group, group C,n=30).With the methods of radioimmunoassay, hydroxylamine oxidation and thirddialdehyde, the serum CORT,SOD and LPO level in the two groups were measured on the 2nd day after hospitalization and on the 2nd day,the 3rd day and the 4th day after hyperthermia. In addition, the life quality scores of the two groups were compared. Results The serum CORT,LPO of group A and group B were higher on the 2nd day after hospitaiization than the group C(P0.05),while the SOD were lower(P

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the effect of ischemia reperfusion (I/R) injury on apoptosis of pancreatic cells in rats with acute pancreatitis(AP). Methods Fifty four SD rats were randomized into 3 groups: pancreatitis group ( n =24), I/R injury group ( n =24) and control group ( n =6). The animal model of AP was induced by retrograde injection of 3% sodium taurocholate into biliopancreatic duct in rats. Pancreatic I/R was caused by blocking the inferior splenic artery and removing the clamp after AP induction. At 1 h, 3 h, 6 h and 12 h, groups of rats were sacrificed. A terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase mediated dUTP biotion nick end labeling (TUNEL) was used to detect pancreatic apoptosis, and histological changes of the pancreas were observed. Results Pancreatic hemorrhage, necrosis were respectively observed in the pancreatitis rats at 6 h and the I/R injury rats at 1 h. Histological changes of the pancreatitis rats at 1 h and 3 h were only congestion and edema. Apoptoic acinar cells increased after AP induction, the peak respectively appeared at 6 h in the pancreatitis rats and at 3 h in the I/R injury rats. Compared with the pancreatitis rats, apoptosis index (AI) of the I/R injury rats was significantly higher at 1 h and 3 h ( P

ABSTRACT

AIM: To observed clinical effect and safety of perindopril alone and combined with gliclazide in the treatment of type Ⅱ diabetic with hypertension and diabetic nephropaphy (DN). METHODS: 61 patients (male 34, female 27) were randomly divided into 2 groups. Perindopril group (n=31): perindopril 4 mg qd, and gliclazide 80 mg bid. Nifedipine group (n=30): nifedipine 10 mg qd, and gliclazide 80 mg bid. The treatments lasted for three months. RESULTS: After the treatments, the levels of blood pressure, FPG, and GHb were distinctly reduced in the two groups (P0.05). In perindopril group, the urine minim albumin (UMA) was markedly reduced (P
